About SRCP ALUMNI

Santhiram College of Pharmacy (SRCP) has played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of students into technocrats, leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers and global managers. Developing an active and engaged alumni network empowers both the Institute and its graduates..

The SRCP has a registered alumni Association named as “S. R. C. P. STUDENT ALUMINI” that creates and maintains a life-long connection between SRCP and its alumni. SRCP Alumni Association is registered as a society under Government of AP Societies Act during the year 2018 with the Registration Number = AP-1631610053 with defined by-laws. There is a separate bank account for the Alumni Association, which is periodically audited by the external auditor,

Objectives:

  • * To interact with students frequently.
  • * To build-up the confidence of outgoing students during entry to industry.
  • * To explain the industrial working environment to current students.
  • * To aware the scope of various novel fields of pharmacy.
  • * To provide opportunities to outgoing students.
  • * To discuss the ‘gap’ between academic syllabus and industries requirement.

Alumni Committee is functional with the objective to nurture a platform for its alumni base of 150 registered life members to connect, engage and benefit the alumni, students and staff. Alumni Association is formed in 2018 having one representative from every Department to accommodate the ever increasing number of alumni.

Executive Committee & Alumni Members:

The executive committee has 1 President, 1 Vice president, 1 Secretary, 2 Joint Secretaries & 1 Treasurer. All the executive committee members are deploying their services in various sectors. The course completed students can join in alumni association just by filling the ‘alumni application form’.

The mission of the Association is to foster strong bonds between alumni, students and the Institute, to keep alumni informed, and create a network enabling them to remain engaged with their alma mater and help shape its future through the Association’s programmes and services. SRCP Alumni Association continues to seek innovative ways to serve alumni by providing social, educational, and professional opportunities that appeal to our broad constituency.

Alumni association undertakes activities such as, to receive feedback on the design, implementation and review of syllabus, to enhance employment opportunities, get-togethers, alumni directory, informational publications, continued learning opportunities and administration of social services. The college organizes a reunion meeting of its alumni members once in a year. The alumni take this meet as an opportunity to meet junior students and faculty to share their professional experience and also guide them for their future aspects like employment, knowledge acquisition and training updates.

Star Alumni: SRCP takes pride in many star alumni who are currently holding eminent and illustrious positions in various multinational companies companies including Aurabiondo, Dr.Reddys Labs, etc.,. Some of the star alumni are also successful entrepreneurs viz: the Indo Medical Healthcare, Gourmet Diary, Desi Hangover.

Contribution from Alumni: SRCP alumni contribute significantly to the development of the Institute through the following means like:

Sponsoring Economically weak Students for Tuition Fee: Many Alumni have supported our students either partially or fully for their academic fee.

Expert speaker: Alumni are invited for guest lectures in their respective domains, keynote speakers for Conferences, training programmes, seminars etc., also as examiners for the final year project exhibition and annual degree distribution ceremony as distinguished speakers.

Dr. V. JagadeeshNaik, USA, (Pharm.D, 2013 batch student) & Mr. G. Koteswara Reddy, Team Leader, Pfizer, Vizag, (B.Pharm, 2007 batch student) are always active participants in our alumni association.

Experience sharing: Alumni reunion meets are organised by the Alumni Committee every year. In all these meets, alumni shared their valuable experience and gave inputs on the current trends in industry. They helped to bridge the academia-industry gap to encourage students for Research and Development work in various fields like drug interaction, molecular systhesis and industrialisation

Curriculum enrichment: Alumni contribute for curriculum enrichment through their structured feedback on curriculum in-order to keep pace with the recent advancements in industry. They also help us to mitigate the identified gaps through out of box thinking & beyond syllabus activities like hands-on workshops, guest lectures and value-added courses.

Faculty: Alumni were appointed as faculty and presently 5% of the faculty are alumni of this Institute and are serving as regular teaching faculty.

IQAC: Alumni are active members of IQAC and their inputs are helping us for quality enhancements.

Project work & Placements: Alumni are involved in training final year students with Industry Specific Skills. Alumni facilitate Institute for campus recruitment by suggesting to their companies.

Educational-tour: SRCP alumni facilitate our students for industrial visits to their employer companies.

Alumni Meetings & Guidelines to Current Students: Alumni meetings in the college premises strengthen its relation with the institute with the passing off of each day. We have conducted 2 alumni meetings (1 offline + 1 online) in view to expose the current students to the industrial knowledge of the alumni students. Recently we have conducted alumni meeting – “ALUMNI PHARMA TRENDS”(Webinar).

Acknowledgement: Our alumni is very strong and gives excellent support to the outgoing batches every year. Our alumni association members are ‘inspiration’ for all college students.
